I have been on a sci-fi/fantasy binge recently. So, I now know:

• I like the Third Doctor and Liz Shaw. (I haven't decided if I like the Fourth Doctor, Sarah Jane, or the Brigadier yet or not.)

• Alien Nation is not too bad. I like Uncle Moodri, Emily, and Cathy. I might like Buck and George now that they're toning the over-aggression down. I reserve ( Read more... )

I haven't seen the new Star Trek movie yet, but I am an avid review reader, so I am aware of some details. Specifically, about the costumes and the main relationship. I've heard a few reviewers complain about this, but my feelings are mixed.

It has occurred to me that River Tam (Firefly) is actually a fairly clever remix of Victorian ideas about women's education.
